Faith-Based Teen
Counseling in Connecticut
The teenage years bring real pressure — school stress, social media comparison, shifting friendships, questions about identity and purpose. For Christian families, there's often an added layer: wanting a counselor who won't just treat the symptoms, but who understands and respects your teen's faith as part of who they are.
At The Wellness Group, our faith-based teen counseling combines clinically sound, evidence-based therapy with biblical truth and respect for your family's spiritual convictions. Your teen doesn't have to leave their faith at the door to get real help.
What Faith-Based Teen Counseling Looks Like?
Our licensed clinicians work with adolescents on the same issues any good therapist addresses — anxiety, depression, self-esteem, family conflict, trauma, life transitions — using proven approaches like cognitive behavioral therapy. For teens and families who want it, we also integrate prayer, Scripture, and a Christ-centered perspective into the therapeutic process.
That means:
- Evidence-based treatment methods, delivered through a lens of faith
- A safe, non-judgmental space where a teen's beliefs are respected, not dismissed
- Sessions led by licensed mental health professionals — not lay counseling
- Support for parents who want to be part of the process
Common Reasons Teens Come to Us
- Anxiety and overwhelm from school or social pressure
- Depression or low motivation
- Identity and self-worth questions
- Family conflict or communication breakdowns
- Grief and loss
- Navigating friendships, social media, and belonging
- Life transitions — a move, a new school, a family change
A Note for Parents
You know your teen better than anyone, and you know your family's values. Our goal is never to replace that — it's to give your teen a trusted, licensed professional who can walk alongside them during a hard season, using tools grounded in both clinical care and faith. Many of our clinicians are happy to loop parents into the process where appropriate, while still giving teens the private space they need to open up.
